I love the action and the catch fish but this lure is worse than made in china [censored], the spoons have come off 4, lost hooks 6, lost ENTIRE lure 5 times, they work great to catch fish but fall apart EXTREMELY QUICK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you need to inspect them out of the box, replace or upgrade, and use them. They are a really great, effective bait, especially at night. Another old Fred Arbogast lure is the Hula Popper.

I've still got three of the old wooden ones that I've had repainted twice and don't know how many times I've replaced the hooks. They are awesome lures under the right conditions. Which reminds me, I haven't thrown one in a while. I better tie one on this weekend......Thanks for the reminder.

I got some that are about 10 years old that I have never used. Most still in original package. I never use these. Maybe I should.

A great night lure. Try one painted totaly black, including the bill and the hooks.

I have had a similar issue with a different "High end" Brand crank bait mfg.
Paid $16.00 for a crank bait and hooked into a good fish, I thought the fish came off - when i reeled the line in - nothing but the bill was on the end of the line.
This happened with 3 seperate lures (all same make & model)
I would look for some of the older wooden models.(ebay)
They just dont make them like the used to

I pait legs & webbed feet on the bottom of the bill.

I haven't seen that bait in a while. We use to use Black ones at night.
