Humm...maybe make sure that your software in the unit is the latest update. It should be version 2.1.30.58 click here

I have questions on HDS-8. Just received it Sat. Installed it,had to try it. It seems when I'm on pad it is very distorted. Why? Or is it just me. I had a LCX-27c. I didn't have that problem. When I'm on the trolling motor.Pristine..... Great detail.
Thank You. Have you set up the unit up for the right transducer ? You can find the style of the transducer by a little silver tag close to the connector that connect to the back of your unit.

Thank You. Are you using the same transducer that you had on the LCX-27? Just thinking if you installed a new transducer in the wrong place it could cause prop wash. You could also try increasing your ping speed.

Thank You all. Its new from lowrance.Should be up to date. But will check. I did put new transducer. And have tried both. They are both same.Only diff. is old one is a puck through hull. Which does not get the best signal. I did think about prop wash. Guess i better move it down. Thanks Guys.
