Went out this evening to a bass pond I haven't fished all summer because of the grass. Fished for 20 minutes without a bite. Packed up and headed over to a local creek for some carp. FAIL. I don't believe any of you have ever caught a carp on the fly. I think you all just carry your fly rod when you go bow fishing and just pose with the fish on "its good side". I saw a few but they were spooky. I did manage 5 rios, two red breast and two small bass, so it wasn't a total loss.

I would normally reply with some indepth analysis of how the weather pattern is affecting the fall bass patterns, but after the beating JackMack and I took on Purtis yesterday I just don't have it in me.

Sometimes fishing is tough. That's all I have to say about that.

Friday, Lady Bird, it can be done.

It's more than the catfish would do.

I know I haven't. I just try to put the fear of my fly line into them. Not too hard to do with my casting stroke.

I recently tried the local creek and couldn't locate any of the regular carp pods I normally find. Found one big guy, probably around 12#, but I lined him and never saw him again.

Don't know about LBL. I've never actually tried for carp there but have been meaning to.

You guys ever fish the weekend?

Only documented one I've caught but you can do it. Just put a heavy streamer on and get towards the bottom or put a tasty terrestrial on if they're rising. Think beatles or hoppers.

Carp are the exact reason I take an 8wt crappie fly fishing. When I'm after meat, I usually run across a carp that didn't get the memo that clearly states that Bill's after crappie, not carpie! smile

He leadeth me beside still waters.

I recall reading once a theory that most things can be categorized Beatles or Stones
