We've been out the last couple weekends at Ray Roberts looking for spawning action and have had some success but not the quantity that we'd normally expect. We've fished from the northern most coves to the southern most coves up the most western and eastern arms of the lake. Fishing depths from 1 - 3' as well as some intermediate depths of 8 - 10'. Fishing mostly stumps but some grassy areas as well. Seemed like water temps went from a little cool (65 deg) 10 days ago to 70-72 deg (last weekend) really quick so wonder if they spawned out quick. Anybody have a water temp reading this week for any portions of the lake? My trusty log books shows water temps in some of the mid lake coves were about 66 - 67 deg on this same date last year so we seem to be considerably warmer this year. we've only been using jigs so maybe minnows have had more success. I guess we might be into a normal summer pattern earlier this year? Anyone have a different perspective?

Jerry - never got your email. I'll reach out to Paul. Glad to see you're having a successful spring so far. Also heard your going to downsize into the Lund Explorer....a nice, very easy to fish boat....although I love my Pro-V.

Dave,

The Pro V is the bomb wink I think a 18' Explorer Crappie Edition with a 150 Optimax will make a great set-up though. I'm going white with all Vinyl flooring. We'll run it about 6months and make someone a very sweet deal on a heavy rigged out boat cool

I got 2 e-mails from you and replied both times? I don't understand what happened?

I have just returned from three weeks mostly up on the NW end the Bob, and have had similar results, most of my fish came in 1 to 3 ft of water jigging, only a few times did we find them stacked up a bit mostly 2 or 3 then on to the next stump. Water temp has been in the high 60's to low 70's depending of course on the area, we averaged 20 nice crappie a day until the last 3 days which fell to 10 decent fish per day, caught most on blk/chr jigs w/pink heads. water levels have been mostly staedy and somewhat stained. good fishin, Pomoxis
