West Texas Crappie Dudes, have y'all seen the forecast for winds?? WhazzzzzUp with this East Wind thing? Old Saying: 'Wind from da East, fish bite da least!'

This does not look good for fishin'!

I have allot of extra time now that my company sold out until the new owner take over and force me to work.

Thanks and Gig'em, Mark Fairchild

I hate it for the fishing, but there's another old saying to the effect that if the wind blows from the east 3 days, it'll bring rain. thumb laugh

Come on RAIN, we need it for sure.
I say, Fish, fish, FISH, irregardless of the wind. It is going to blow from one direction or another this time of the year almost everyday. Lakes are at magic temperatures of 68-71 degrees throughout West Texas.

Go Fishing as Often and as Much as You Can, the time is NOW.

Good Luck Mark,
Mud-Dabber

Mark, to be honest with you ,I personally believe I catch more fish at J.B.T. with that east wind. I know when that front blew through two weeks ago on a Fri./Sat. that I had a great 18 hours of fishing(wind was NNE,then E). I agree with da Mud, GO, GO, GO, no matter what direction the blow. After all, we live in West Texas, whata ya xpect?! If the wind ain't blowig, I's get scared!!!!!!

God willin', I'm fishin.

Watch out for more rain coming up from the south now. Abilene got a record 1.75 inches from this storm that blew thru last night, I'm just 16 miles SE of there near Eula and only had .40 of an inch, go figure !
I planned to go fishing yesterday when I was off but had a stomach bug that kept me home dang it. I figured the NE and east wind might have been perfect in wind sheltered areas for the crappie to feel like moving up shallow there and spawning. Maybe by next monday when I'm off again this rain will have gotten the fish more active.

We only had another .40 of an inch from thursdays rain. The headwaters of Pecan Bayou runs 50 yards south of my place, only it's not running yet darn it. One good 4 inch rain storm now would put it out of it's banks, filling Clyde lake up and getting a nice flow on down towards you bayourat.
