How hard is it going to be to take out the spark plugs out of my 2002 f-150 4.2. I have never changed them out, she has about 130,xxx miles.

I don't know the 4.2. I have a 4.0 in my Sporttrac and there was some stuff that I had to manuever around. It was about a 1 hour job. I do not even attempt my 5.4 F150. Go to the Ford F150 Forum. There is lots of good stuff on there. The people on there are Ford fans and you will not get the negatives but usually still good advice.

BE SURE AND REMOVE THE PLUGS WITH THE ENGINE COLD AND APPLY ANTISEIZE TO THE NEW PLUGS. +1 +2 the 4.2l v6 has more of your conventional ignition system. Meaning coil pack and plug wires NOT the COP system found on the v8's. Best recommendations I have a. Motorcraft plugs b. use dielectric grease in the plug wire boots do not get any on the electrical contact surfaces if so clean with q-tip and alcohol.

Only for the un-informed. Not a problem with proper research and patience.

I wouldn't change my plugs without a torque wrench to properly torque the new plugs, but that's just me. Be careful, you could have a seized plug.

BE SURE AND REMOVE THE PLUGS WITH THE ENGINE COLD AND APPLY ANTISEIZE TO THE NEW PLUGS. smart man. aluminum heads will leave the threads on the sparkplugs if you pull em out while the heads are hot
