I had a 100 fish day with the biggest going 7.6 on a 12 acre stock tank I grew up fishing in southern Iowa. I had two rods and one bag of 100ct red shad power worms. I about ran out of worms.....

went to a private lake with my dad when i was about 13 on a day which a tornado warning was in effect. we loaded the boat on the topwater bite with about 20 or so then about 8am it started pouring rain. We were in an aluminum jon and were worried about lightning so we ducked in a cove til it lighten'd up a bit and threw slug-o's and bass assasins dog dooty (fish stick old school) caught 2 over 5# and about 20 more dinks. We finished the day fishing an old duck blind and abandoned boat house. My dad caught a 10.8lb and I followed with a 7.5lb. It ended up being 56 with him taking 30 and myself 26. We read later that the city had put in something called bluestone or greenstone which kills algae to make the water better for drinking but also makes the fish sick and unable to eat for a week or two. Apparently we caught them when they were well and hungry.

In the early days on Toledo it was common to catch 150 to 200 for 3 people in one day. Of course most were small but the occasional big fish could be caught.
