I need some help. I have a very large amount of water coming out the spark plug opening. It is not coming from the plug, but looks like it is coming out from between the cylinder head and cover. I am guessing this is the water jacket?

The motor is a 1993 johnson 115. What should I expect once I start taking the water jacket off. Is there more than just replacing the gasket?

I will post photos once I get them off my phone.

Thanks for all of your help.

All this time, I thought the motor was a 1993, but I just searched the model number, found it is a 1990.

Thanks for the help. Looks Like I will be calling rockwall Marine in the morning.

Thanks again,
Chris

Those old Johnson V4's had some small 5/8" hoses that went from the block to the heads. Check the hoses for leaks.

Go ahead and do both sides while you're at it.

Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

Ok. I will change them both and check the hoses.

Thanks again,
Chris

Went to remove the bolts, and a 5 minute job has now turned into a 5 hour job. 3 bolts twisted off. U was able to get one of the 3 out with a big pair of plyers, but the other two are broke off at the head.

Any good ideas on how to the the bolts out. And should I replace the bolts with stainless steel bolts or just a regular, good bolt? Should I replace all of them?

use a very small high quality bit and drill trough the center of the bolt then go up a few sizes and do it again...once the hole is big enough try a easy out or just keep increasing the the bit size until you have almost drilled the whole bolt out... be careful you don't damage the threads...takes time but can be done.. maybe someone else has a better method....

Spray them with penetrating oil and let sit before you try to easy them out.

You can get these at most Auto Parts stores and Hardware stores.

Easy Out Extractor set

http://www.cvfsupply.com/accessories/easy_out_screw_extractor_5pc.html

Bolt Extractor kit
http://www.grainger.com/1/1/49060-recoil-4017p-screw-extractor-kit-drill-out.html

Use Mouse Milk to loosen them before working the bolts.. best penetrating oil there is period.
