When do each of these baitfish generally spawn?

Not sure but I've heard coppernose (bluegill) can spawn up to 4 times per year.

i think the shad spawn after the largemouth bass, around may-june. that's what i heard kevin van dam say one time. he was fishing some riprap along a dam and said the bass will feed on the shad who come to the surface especially around rocks.

Did you mean shad spawn after both bass and perch or opposite?

why wouldnt they? I would imagine they would be easy prey...I've heard a lot of guys say use a bluegill color bait around the bluegill spawn and you could find more fish rather than a shad pattern.

Yes if perch are spawning use perch patterns. My studying and seeing the last few years is shad will be spawning in the backs of creeks at the end of and after the majority of the bass spawn. Perch will start spawning at about the same time and continue all through the summer on flats. A lake with a broader range of perch species will have longer perch spawns. This is what I have seen the last couple of years particulary on Amistad and Choke Canyon. When I would see shad jumping from my lures and bass busting them I would work that area trying shad imitation baits. When I would get the rapid rat a tat tat tat on soft plastics that would be perch and would work that area with perch imitation baits. Worked very well for me.

shad usualy have atleast two spawns, the first in may, and again in the fall, however this year on texoma there has already been two shad spawns, perch will spawn two somtimes 3 times durring the year. Two weeks ago there were a bunch of perch on beds. Bass love the shad spawn in may, because they have just finished spawning most bass will go out and stage, or suspend under boat houses. Shad love to spawn on the styrofoam of boat houses and it's an easy target for bass recovering from the spawn. As far as perch, bass usualy tend to eat perch, before the bass spawn.
