Jerry deBin just sent me this email. A lot of folks on the TFF had thier lives touched by these two young men and thier journey. Our prayers are with the family and friends. ---------------------------------- Friends, John Rust finally lost his battle with cancer. Phil & John loved to talk about their great bass fishing adventure with stops in Bama, Mississippi, Houston, Corpus Christi and even a storybook Christmas on Lake Falcon. The boys made new friends, got loads of cool fishing toys, fished great waters with generous guides and fulfilled their lifelong dream of fishing the Souththanks to each of you. I want to thank you for investing in the life of someone you had never met before! You personally made an impact in this young mans life and in his family too. John & Phils parents are still dumbfounded and still talk about your kindness and extreme generosity shown to their boys. They were overwhelmed that a bunch of people would do this for two total strangers. It's good to be reminded from time to time of our own mortalityotherwise we tend to get engulfed in the urgency of the moment and lose sight of the things that really matter.the things that last beyond this life. My prayers go out to the Rust family and friends. Lost my Dad to Cancer a few years go. Terrible disease. And Kudos to all those who took time out of their lives to help this young man!

JP.... Thanks for doing everything you could for him. It was a pleasure eating dinner with you and him one evening while he was at Falcon.
Guys, you talk about a young man who lived for the future. He knew what he was facing, and was trying live as much as he could in just a short time.
I pray he is finally resting, and knows he taught others how to appreciate what they have.

When I saw this topic, the picture shown above with his huge smile popped into my head. Then, I see the picture on the thread. The huge smile was still as I remembered it. I remember talking to those that were around him and how he had such a great time here. Prayers sent. His suffering is over and he's at rest now.
