I just replaced my riding mower rear tire. The tire is not airing up since the wheel and tire bead will not mate. Too much space and air is leaking.

I have tried all I know how so far. I can't press or squeeze the tire enough to make it catch air. I may just take it to discount tire and have them do it.

Any suggestions?

Put a rachet strap around the tread and tighten it that way. Add the air and should seal up good, oh and slap some grease around the bead.

also if you can remove the valve stem core and use an air gun nozzle instead of the inflator nozzle, it puts out alot more air

Both good ideas. I will try that tomorrow.

I did a quick search on you tube and I found this method interesting.

It seems the tire will remain an explosion hazard.

That is a good way to mount them. It can get dangerous but sometimes that is the easiest way.flame

When you try to air it up, be sure and wet the tire with soapy water so it will slide on the bead.

wrap a chain around it an lube the bead and hit it with air make sure your face and body are clear because if it blows it will go straight up.

Would it be a good idea to take it to tire shop and let them mount it??

seen a guy get half his head sliced off from one of the bigger tires that have the suicide ring on it.

guy was doing the air up trick and had the tire out in the open instead of the cage, ring flew off and clipped a guy

That's an old race car trick. Starting fluid works better...but you cant use NEARLY that much ! Just a little squirt will do. Been using it for years.

Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.
