I found a boat abandoned on a small island in the cos-way in corpus christi. It would be parallel with the bob hall pier but inside the flats area. The boat looks like [censored] as it has definately signs of age and weather. No motor and it's beached up on the sand.

Would it be ok to take it? I wanted a small boat project. It's hull only so it's already got the demolition done for me!

Any help is appreciated.

I called TPWD a few months ago to ask about an abandoned boat. They told me it must be turned in to the local authorities, who will then auction it off. The lucky auction winner can then get the boat titled/registered. I laughed and hung up on her.

Best way to get a project is go to a boat repair shop. Most have boats they will sell real cheap, heck I have 2 boats with trailers, no motors, with bad transoms, I will give someone. Have title to one of them.

ok so let me know when I can come pick one up. . . I'd be more apt to get one legally than to have a possible problem.
