See if your local feedstore carries what is called cottonseed cake. Take a "slab" and break it into little pieces and put into a pair of knee high hose(that kind that comes in the little plastic egg). Put the cottonseed cake into the hose and tie the end in a knot. The hose will allow water to penetrate through, and attract crappie and catfish. Good Luck !

As long as it poses no hazard to the boaters on the lake no one will call you down for it.I have had my boat loaded with stuff and the warden just waved.I read somewhere that parks and wildlife encourages it.

I've also heard that they encourage it also on some lakes.
