Cory,

You can launch a trailer at Marshall Creek Park.

From Plano:
Take 121 to 1171
1171 to 377 (go south)
Go 1.9 miles to Marshall Creek Rd (go East)
- This gets you into the Park
At the Park Entrance turn Left. The ramp will be about 1 mile North of the Park Entrance on your left.
You'll be in the creek when you put in.

Good Luck,

Dave905

I am not sure it materrs much but some of these guys are fishing below the dam and some are on the west end of the lake,if you are looking to go up the creek from the lake the best place to launch is marshall creek park, you can go all the way to 377 bridge from there.

Have any of you guys put in at I-35 and floated down or at the feeder creek off of 114?

I was looking at the map and saw this as a possiblity but have never floated it and didnt know what to expect as far as:

Log jams
Float times
Unforseen problems?

Thanks

You can exit the park after they close. You have to be fishing by boat in order to stay after the entrance gate is closed. Now the guy that works the gate did tell me that due to problems they have had with the hunters they were closing both entrance and exit gates - but that should have ended now.

Been reading and getting ideas off of this site for over a year now, and dang it if this weather doesnt have that spring fever wanting me to get outt the office. Out on Denton creek, are people having more luck heading east or west off of 377? Throwing some rooster tails for sandies and road runners for crappie or what seems to be the best ideas at the moment other than a bucket of minnows and a bucket of beer and a good cigar? Any particular colors/size being used? Are the roadies and roosters the best bet to go with for the sandies/whites/crappie right now?

Headed down at lunch over to the ponds at Coit/Campbell - nothing but some moss but it was better than sitting in the office! I have to work late and then take the fiance out tonight so I cant make the forum down at Joe Pool. Can I throw in my 5 bucks for the materials and get the secret spots that are supposed to be divulged tonight so i can get out and get some fish in the freezer - all the trout I caught in CO this fall are long gone, and I havent put out the lines yet for the yellows.

Thanks for all the help.

I have just gained access to fishing on Denton Creek from the point of 407 just north of 35W. Has anyone fished that section. Sure is beautiful! The water is amazing. Wondering if there are any tips out there. Lots of places to wade, sand bars, bends and pools in a 1/2 area. I had never seen Denton Creek before

mustangsally - get a johnboat or canoe and float Denton creek from 407 to 35W. We do it several times a year and it always produces fish. From now until it really starts getting warm you can usually find a good number of holes that hold fish.

You can also go to 35 and walk up or down the creek. Good holes in both directions, but a boat is better.

We will be floating from 35 to 377 next week. I never done that part of the creek.

Roller 22 - let me know how your float from 35 to 377 goes....Ive been wanting too and I have asked questions about it before on the forum and no one answers about that particular float.

Out of curosity where is 407? Do you normally catch crappie or sandies on the 407 to 35 float?

Thanks

Cane Pole - take 377 north out of Keller to 407 in Argyle. Take 407 west past 35W to Justin. 1 mile before you get to Justin you will cross Denton Creek. You can park and fish at the bridge. I wouldn't walk too far up or down because of private property. This is where we put in to float the creek to 35W. We will have a vehicle at the north side of the bridge on 35W. 3-6 hour float depending on how much time you spend fishing.
