I have pictures, but I am not able to post them. I tried to find help on this, but got nothing. I will keep looking.
Here is the question
I have a 1993 Johnson 115. I notice gas getting into the engine compartment so I did some looking around. I found that when I press the choke, gas shoots out of a small crack on the solenoid located at the top of the carbs. I am sure this has something to do with the choke. The part that is cracked is the 4 bolt cover that has a small orange lever. Can i just by the plate with the lever, OR do I need to by a whole new unit?
I will post the pics when I can get it figured out.
Thanks, Chris

That is your "fuel enriching" devise, commonly known as a choke. You can buy just the cap at any local Johnson/Evinrude dealer, ask for Part # 341071.

It would have to be spewing a lot of fuel for it to cause a problem. If you had the lever turned wrong, it will. The lever is to manually choke the engine.

Thanks Tommy. I just picked up the part from Regent Marine in Rowlett. They are about 2 miles from my house. I wish I would have read your post earlier. I would have bought from you.
That part must break alot. Regent had the part close to the front desk. Why are they so prone to break?
