I dont think I have been skunked on LL in a long time but today I could not buy a bite.I tried everything everywhere and got my A handed to me.Did anybody do any good? I hope so.I got on the water about 9 am being lazy and finished up around 2 and the only fish that saw the boat were a few cats I went after just so I could feel a fish pull.Im gonna try again tonight or in the morning.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!! I can usually pester a couple in the non peak time into biting.Im regularly on the water well before the sun is and can shut the lake down in the eve too.I guess I was just disappointed as the birds were hitting and I was able to locate some blacked out screens of fish and blanked.Im ashamed of me.

I slept in as well, but still caught a few from the shore. Bad day to fish with weather clearing up and pressures rising. Used light spinning rig from the bank with little cut gizzards and managed 2 nice hybrids, 4 good eater cats, 1 dink lmb, and an 8 lb buffalo that was a blast to catch on my 6 lb test! I have found on slow fishing days to use light line, small thin wire crappie hooks, little or no weight, and smaller baits to entice the fish. When the weather cools down and fall begins I start catching big hybrids right up on the bank. Hope this helps!

I was out Saturday too...found huge schools of bait about 500 yards out from the shallow cut in the old dam, right where you go through to get to party cove. Herons were flying all over having a feast. Drifted large 6 inch shad over the bait balls and caught a 6 lb hybrid and had two more break off. Those fish are brutes. Later on drifted across the gravel pits and only picked up two cats, one at 10 lbs and one at 5.If anyone is looking for bait early in the am you can get all you need right off the gas dock at Pier 121 marina. You don't even need a boat, just throw where the big street light is shining in the water at the end of the dock.

I went out yesterday about 3:30 and had a tank full of beautiful shad. Marked huge schools of fish just out from the 121 cut. And there I sat for the next two and a half hours watching wave after wave of fish go by without even a lousy pull down. Tried everything, large ones , small ones , cut bait, dorsal fin hooking, artificials , slabs.....nothing. Even went into the cut and netted fresh bait but to no avail....not even a lousy catfish today.Did not see any schooling either.
