I just need some tips on how to fish while raining. I headed out to my usual spot at a creek and didn't catch anything. The water was moving at a decent pace and eventhough I had a weight on my line, it was taking it for a ride. How should i be reeling in the bait and/or lure? Is it even a good idea to fish while it's raining?

Depends what you were fishing for. Fish right at the edge of the current or in a back eddy for catfish, same with crappie (ESPECIALLY in a back eddy). Sandies will run the main current alot. Don't know about bass, probably hanging around behind trees and such.

No fish is too good for the grease.

It depends on what you are fishing for but in either case I fish eddys or the mouths of sloughs coming into the creek.I don't mind fishing in the rain as long as there is no lighting about,I have caught some of my bigger fish in these conditions.

If it gets muddy, the bass will often times move right up on the bank if there are rocks or stumps there.
