Its still a daily struggle. I thought the urge to get up and dip would be gone by now. i just rush and get coffee going and start chewing gum.

I have been quit for 1 Week, 1 Day, 20 hours and 27 minutes (8 days). I have saved $34.97 by not smoking 150 cigarettes. I have saved 12 hours and 30 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 9/11/2009 00:01

Newbie here, took me a while to PM the right folks to get access, but here I am, hopefully will contribute more than I take away. Anyways, I've quit (stopped) in the past, but always found a reason to smoke again. My longest break was 8 months back in the early '90s.

Now I'm 60 - I've seen cigarettes go from $0.11 per pack in the PX in the late '60s to over $10.00 per pack in Staten Island last April - 2 packs for $19.49 +TAX !

So far so good - one day at a time, but my first thought used to be a cigarette - now my first thought is "Lord, Help Me Get Through The Day Without Lighting Up".

NOPE - Not One Puff Ever !

Good to be here......

61 complete days - I feel like a non-smoker - I can smell the "aura" on folks and I think "Did I really stink like that?"

I still occasionally miss the "feel good" of a cigarette when things are tough or stressful, but I've learned to cope with that and use "Dismiss & Distract" to get away from the stinkin' thinkin'.

Thank a Veteran today !

Congrats, Guys.
I am on my puny little 19th day. I feel so insignificant. Could be worse, I could be a smoker!
