Anybody use the twin hooks for soft plastic frogs? If so what size and brand do you suggest? I bought some 4/0 tru tungsten twin hooks but they seem impossible to rig up...

Not for sure but those may be better suited for Spro Frogs or something of that nature

I know they make them for soft bait style frogs, thats what the Tru Tungesten hooks were designed for...I've just had a tough time riggin up the ribbit frog on it. I know there are several different brands that make these hooks and I'm wanting to know which one works best with the ribbit frog. If anybody can help me out I appreciate it!

I know Gambler makes one that's specifically for the buzz style frogs. Has a keel weight and everything. Bobby Lane designed it and he fishes that style bait a lot. Might give it a look if you see it in any stores.

if you had a screw in the middle of the double it MIGHT work but seems like it would flip upside down a lot

I've used the tru-tungsten hook and it works better with a wider bodied frog - ribbit is too narrow, horny toad is just barely wide enough. With the wide bodied frog you can just let the frog sit in between the two hooks, just barely skin hooking the points in the top of the body. I don't run the hook bends through the plastic. It is a pain though to have to push the hook eye up through the body. But that bend really holds the head in place. I keep one rigged this way and one on a regular frog hook. If the cover is not super thick and /or I want to run the bait faster, I'll throw the double hook. The double hook makes the bait want to ride lower in the water so it takes a bit more speed to keep it at the surface. But when a fish gets hold of a that double hook, it's fish ON.
