How many use the double uni? I use a small swivel and my old fishing partner from Killeen lost a big one this weekend cause of a bad knot...Now I know a good knot is a good knot, I just personally like to use a small swivel from braid to 8lbs flouro on my fairy wand

Uni to uni works very well -- easy to tie and strong.

I still ask the same question: (Especially on spinning gear.) "Why are you using braid with a leader?" Why not just use the Fluorocarbon?

Flouro kinks and coils up REAL bad...I solved my own problem, ordered 12 lbs P-Line Floroclear for my finese use with the spinning gear

I still ask the same question: (Especially on spinning gear.) "Why are you using braid with a leader?" Why not just use the Fluorocarbon? Excellent sensitivity. Also, when fishing weightless, the braid floats and is very easy to notice subtle bites.

I also like the double uni knot i always tie them when i do my leaders. I think a swivle would mess up your guides on your rod.

(Fluoro kinking on spinning reels is a very big problem. And I do agree with the sensitiviy but using sinking fluoro with floating braid defeats the purpose of the floating aspect of the braid.) Having said that: I occasionally use braid and fluoro leader deep t-rig fishing for the low stretch and sensitivity benefits. (But I use heavier line (20 lb test) on my fluoro to get the fish out of the deep brushpiles.) I use the Improved Clinch knot on the braid and a Palomar knot on the leader. (The double line of the Fluoro Palomar Knot keeps the braid from cutting the line.) Haven't had it break yet. Easy and quick to tie this setup.

Bigron. If you throw weightless senkos, try 30 lb braid with a 6 foot flouro leader -- I think you'll like it.
