Left the house about 4 with one time fishing client, now best buddy Jack Spirko of the www.thesurvivalpodcast.com

We got on the water around 4:30 and hit the north bridge. jack has never fished for crappie on purpose he claims. Just after we arrived sandies started boiling under the bridge in the shade which was fun and weird at the same time.

As we moved to standing timber near Britton we stopped off at a hump and Jack caught a nice little football LMB that he released in the 3 to 4 range.

We hit the timber with no luck but had good luck at the south bridge in 22 foot of water on home made and his Walmart jigs. The storms soon set so we hauled A and headed for the ramp.

Thanks wworth, I lurked for a year or so. My love for crappie fishing has haunted me and I am a sick man. I cant get it off my mind.

Did well Saturday in the rain, caught several in usual places and scouted out a couple of new places. Ate crappie last night, mmmmm.

cheetahD, yes, there are an abundance of sandies on Joe Pool. It is quite a moody lake though and these rains will definately effect the sandbass fishing. Stick with crappie!

Howell,
good to see you post lately!
I dipped the boat in Pool for about 20 min last Friday before the rain to test the boat for a prospect buyer. I found quite a few suspnded crappies on timbers at creek mouth. They are shallow (some were 5' below surafce)
Fall crappies is coming!!!! Oh yeah!!!!

I'm new to crappie fishing, Never thought I would like anything but chasing sandies and trying to fool black bass. Caught my first slab crappie last April on Bridgeport at Northside Marina and I hooked

I love all fish but but fish for fish crappie seem to give me the most pleasure. Joe Pool has alot of crappie in it. My neighbor and me picked up 17 last night for the frying pan with very few dinks. Dont let the lake level scare you away unless your fishing for sandies which go deep when they open the gates.

I arrived at Loyd Park yesterday to find that the City of Grand Prairie sold out to the gas rigs. a 1/3rd of the ramp is now occupied by huge pumps taking water out of the lake. As if Loyd doesnt get backed up enough on the weekends. Shame.
