So with the weather the last couple days I have been really wanting to see if the fish are biting. But the boat is outa service, I decide at the drop of a hat to go fishing. The ramp I normally use has a creek feeding into the cove (Loyd Park) so I went there first (caught one). When I got there I was disgusted. The lake is unbelievably high, so I kinda understand. But this is ridiculous.

By the way, bank fishing after the flood = a scene from antaphobia. The last pic could be seen for every step you took. I spent more time knockin fire ants off my shoes than I did fising.

Nature's way of cleaning humans' trash out of the creeks. Interesting pics, though. Were the wet fire-ants a little peeved?

Sadly, I'm not surprised.

Yeah they don't seem to like when you step in there way. It's awesome though, how they pull together and float across the lake.

Time to drag out the prisoners for a little work detail. They could use the exercise and fresh air. I hate seeing all that trash in our get aways.

people
we go to the lake to enjoy it and leave our trash behind

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

I would rather have a bad day fishing, than a good day at the office!

Pretty simple, "Tote it in then tote it out"

A bad day on the lake is much better than a good day at work!

When we lived in Texas, Loyd park was my home ramp too. Every now and then I would take my grandson bank fishing. WE would walk back up along the creek towards the road. It really saddened me to see all the trash and beer cans and things people just tossed into the woods. Seeing a flood like that really flushes out the trash. Too bad that the folks who normally fish from the bank along the creek aren't there to clean it up! bang
