Here is a silly question... Anyone know of a off the shelf product that is aimed at small boats (14' would be perfect!) to address the rolling of a boat? I found big dollar items for huge sail boats.
My boat is small and narrow, thus it rocks with ease. I have been thinking of constructing a set of roll stabilizers. I am thinking of those Hawaiian canoes what use out riggers. Anyone else out there ever think of solving this issue? Thoughts/ideas? (I love my little boat, so buying another boat is out of the question for me. It gets me into some real tight spaces.)
Thanks in advance!

There are canoe stabilizers that you can buy that might adapt to your boat. Seen them in most all the major store catalogs.

Wow... The canoe stabilizers are expensive! Anyone have ideas of materials to use that are not so expensive that are common to the marine industry?

Saw some a few years ago that were hinged to fold when running and were made out of old freon tanks.

Looks like some good ideas brewing. I can visuallize it now.....
I would use something stout for the "wing struts". Perhaps 1" electrical conduit. I picture your rig as maybing having some cross member seating. (I've not seen your rig yet) If it does, bolt a bracket to each side that you can secure the wing struts to. Use carriage bolts with wing nuts to make it a quick to rig once you get ready to launch or are already on the water. That way it sets up and breaks down quickly. You can use PVC pipe with caps for the floatation.
Just a suggestion...Can't wait to see what you come up with! R
Where do they go when they're not there???
