Good morning, I'm buying the Eagle 320 later today at BPS and was trying to think of a good clamp on style bracket for the transom that would adjust to be right below the water line.I also will need to manage the wire because the boat is only 9'long. Can you shorten the transduser cable? I don't want to mount it with screws or glue as I haul this around in my truck and fish different places. I thought I would see what the great minds on the TFF might come up with. Thanks for any input.

Jim, I've had portable units before and Liked the suction cup that came with the transducer. It's cool for low speeds.

fishingClyde, I don't think the texture of my boat will let a suction cup work. Thanks for the reply. Kelly found me a bracket like I need at Cabellas. Now I need to see if anybody else around Dallas has it. Thanks again

Why don't you just mount it to your trolling motor like a normal bassboat?

Unless you have a small outboard spend th $6 for th3e trolling motor transducer. It will be down anyway. Do not cut the transducer wire, just roll it up, zip tie it and hide it.

Attach the transducer to a piece of 1x4 about 16" long.attach the 1x4 to the outside of the transom with a small C-clamp. You can adjust the height as necessary and the whole thing is removeable leaving no holes in the boat.
DO NOT cut off the transducer wire.

For all you creek fisherman with flatbottoms or bass buggies I have designed a proven and well managable way to install your fishfinders. This design is for the people like me who beach their boats and hand pull them out at times and carry them in your truck. My proven installation will protect your transducer.Your transducer is permitly mounted but no holes are drilled. It is sturdy and I have had it on my boat for over a year. And I beach my boat by hand pulling it onto the bank out of the water. And you are able to move your mounted fishfinder without tools or anything with just a push from your hand to keep it out of your way to either the left side of the boat, cent in between your legs, or to the right of the boat. If any are interested I would like input because I am going to patent this idea and hey who knows make some money off of it. So if your interested let me know.
