.... produced for me saturday (29th). My buddy and I arrived out there around 11p and fished into the night. The first hour or so was awful, filled with wind and bitter cold (being that I am a wimp when it comes to cool temps). After that first hour we had all 4 poles going wild (30 crappie 4 cats). The bite was very consistent although the water temp was very low and the wind speed was moderately high. I know this question has been beat to death by this board, but I have never seen a "direct" answer or I have not looked hard enough, but I wanted to know what exactly does a cold front do to crappie that are spawning.

Unless it drops the water temperature drastically and puts them off the spawn (moves them deeper), nothing really.

That goes for those who choose not to fish though the night! I have found the dark hours to produce more fish after a front than the daytime!

Hey Brett where were you fishing. I mean on a dock or under a bridge? You say you were fishing at night. Did you have lights out?
Drop it in front of them and they will eat it!!!

I was out on Grapevine last night in a spot that usually produces some good Crappie and it was really slow! Pretty chilly too.

If it has not already been said, welcome to the board DanH.
I don't know about you guys, but I am ready for this cool front to move on out of the area. As far as I can tell, it has not cooled the water that much on Texoma yet. I am ready for some 2-3" rains instead of these misters we have been getting. Texoma needs the runoff from the rain.

Me, too, TB...I'm ready for one of those high pressure domes to come "camping" over Texas after we get those rains, get some thermoclines set and the fish in predictable patterns.
