 How long do Crappie Keep in Freezer?

Just trying to get peoples opinions here.
I have seen 3 months from 8-12 Months posted on the internet. I figure Crappie are leaner so should keep longer then say oily fish like salmon.. What is the maximum length of time before they start spoiling?
I keep mine frozen solid in freezer bags with no air..

I freeze mine in water and plenty of it. Not sure how long they will stay in the freezer though. I would say on the safe side, to keep it at 6 months or so. Best thing to do is keep the grease hot, and you don't have to worry about them going bad.

Vacuum packed they should stay for about a year. I date my packages so I know for sure...

Shouldn't filets be fine if there is no air on them? I fill the freezer bag with water and push all the air out. I have not had a problem yet(knock on wood/head).

use both vacuum and submerged in water, fillets and whole and hadn't had any problems or change in taste @ 6 months

fillets in ziplock freezer bag fill with water all way to top push air out and close.no problem or taste change up to 12-13 months for me.

I think anyone who is an outdoorsman (hunting, fishing) would be crazy not to have a Food Saver vaccum sealer. I have had mine for several years and it keeps all your game fresh for a couple of years. Takes up less room in the freezer than freezing filets in water.
Well worth the investment.

I take a consensus of at least 8 months seeing that I froze them in ziplock bags full of water- no air.. I did not freeze them first- then put them in bags filled with water then refreeze like the article said to-- Sounds like a way to do it from now on..
Thanks for the input as I am sure this helped all who have been wondering about how long to keep the "Bags of Gold" I have been wanting a food saver for awhile but just never got around to getting one..

I put mine in plastic containers (not bags) and fill it with water. Even at that I never keep fish for over 6 months. There is usually no reason to even consider it.

I use a vacuum sealer. They keep for months. Still taste fresh caught.
