simple and effective

OATS GRITS CHILI POWDER

thats all i use and it works. 4 bucks for a decent size mixture at wal*mart

get the cheapo blue cylinder of oats (the blue Great Value because the oats are the biggest i can find)

The Small white cylinder of grits(so you dont have to mess with small packages)

and the 50 cent thing of chili poweder from the spice section(usually located at the bottom of the spice rack)

Mix half of each at a time

half the oats
half the grits
half the chili powder

add a little bit of water till it will stick together
then after about 10 minutes add a little more water
and it will be perfect!

I thank God for each day!

Patato is a very good bait for carp they figure that out hundreds of years ago (see the compleat angler by isaak walton written in the late 1800s)
It might not be the most practicel bait to stick on a hair but carp realy like the taste
I started my carp fishing 40yrs ago with sticking a BIG hook in a fist size patato
I had many 20-30pound carp that way and in those days that was HUGE smile

Oh and jesse there is not much difference between paprica powder and chilly powder they are both great attractors
Best way is to mix them 50/50 and make a sirup cooking cane suger paprica and chilly ( plus water)to make it better for the use in method mixes
And for those that make your own boilie ...use the cooking water for making the sirup
That way you re-use the goodies that are boiled out of the boilies like the flavor( no need to throw that expensive stuff away right?) wink

here try this

in a CLEAN 5 gallon bucket with a lid

1 pound box of oat meal
2 pounds of whole rolled oats
1 table spoon kosher salt
4 crushed tablets L-LYCIENE amino acid
mix all the drys together and put lid on

at the lake add 1 can of delmonte brand cream corn
then ad 1/2 of a second can saving 1/2 mix well with hands
in the saved can put 4 caps superior brand flavoring
or 2 caps one on flavoring, mix well with remaining cream corn
then drizzle into mix and mix well

it will last all day but dump left overs as it won,t save well

I have tweaked it by substituting frog spawn cooked tapioca " you can use many food colors to make them look like spawn"
and yogurt for the corn in spring time

try out different flavors as it makes a big difference, if using yogurt use PLAIN and add condensed canned milk for flavor and use

fake plastic salmon eggs soaked in said milk as hook baits a touch of fish sauce helps and just a touch at that

no officer sir..... carp do not get "high" on hemp seed

Wel crago can you imagine what kind of looks I was getting 40yrs ago!
Keep in mind that there was no information about carp back then not in holland anyway
And there I was in camoclothing sneaking on the bank dropping big patatos right in front of cruising carp...it was sure raising an eyebrow or two
The only guys fishing for carp back then was in the uk in red mire pool and that was 3acres...I was fishing a 2500acres lake its a big difference

use enough cream corn to make it all bind together, when i make grits pack it usually takes between a half and a full can.

my mix is a halg a can of quaker oats, a full can of grits and a half bottle of chille powder(the small bottle) and enough water to make it stick together. i used this at lake mexia a few weeks ago and landed 8 fish in 2 days. nothen big but i was happy.
