I keep seeing reference to making sure the jig hangs horizontally. I assume this means the body of the jig is horizontal to the surface. Does this really make a difference to a fish?

You are trying to make the jig look similar to a bait fish. How many bait fish do you see hanging straight up and down? It just gives it a more natural look.

Okay, AA - here's the scoop in a picture.

left is okay, right is wrong (get it?), and center is the preferred method with the knot to the back of the tie eye.

Hope this helps ya...

Until you learn how to crappie fish, don't worry about "how your jig is hanging". Get the basics down first, then worry about those type things, and most importantly..........have fun.
