I keep wondering about Lake Cliff everytime I go past it.. it looks like it'd hold some bass but I never really see anyone fishing it. Has anyone here ever bass fished it from the banks? It's at the corner of Zang and Colorado btw.

Possibly
Don't fish it at night, you'll get robbed/mugged.
I grew up in that area and it's no man's land after dark, sad to say

No, I'm fully aware 'cause I'm from this area too. My Aunt was robbed at gun point in a gas station that used to be across the street. But still, during wakeing hours I'd think there'd have to be some fish in it... may give it a try soon. I'm actually more worried about leaving my car unattended than anything.. maybe I could borrow John Wiley Price's drive way (lives across the stree) - I doubt he'd give me any lip.

Yep, I did as well... actually I looked real good for anything on Lake Cliff before I started this thread - and found nothing at all. Figured the post you were talking about was under some obscure title or something. I will post pictures if and when I haul the lake record out of there.. or my usual dink. I know what to expect - I'm sure there'll be so much garbage (literally) in the water that I'll get depressed. I doubt the pic-nicers are very tidy, they sure aren't at Bachman, that's for sure.

OK..OK..that's what I'm talking 'bout!! I got a couple hours to spare, think I'll head over there and fish it. Will probably be there from 9am til about noon if anyone wants to fish it with me. Thanks for the picture, it's certainly encouraging.

Alright guys, I'm back and I gotta tell you I had one of the best fishing experiences of the whole summer, 6 bass in three hours - I'm usually lucky for 2 all day LOL. Anyway, here's a picture of the best one I caught, was the first one I caught too. Ya'll help me with the weight - these pictures truely don't do the fish justice but it was getting real stressed so I let it go before I got more shots. It was 19 inches long and I'm thinking somewhere over 4 lbs.

thanks ya'll I got all six on a junebug soft plastic stick bait. Got a couple casting at splashes too. I'm wanting to give topwater a try next time.. not that I saw a whole lot of shad being chased but there was some good looking cover for it; grass and stuff. I think I'm gonna invest in a can of mace to "up" the comfort level a bit, seems to be mostly homeless types sitting around with nothing to do. Not to scare anyone off but apparently there's an AIDS shelter around the corner from there. The lake was actually not quite as trashed out as I thought it would be either, which was good. The park itself is really nice. Let's meet out there sometime guys.
