I had a 50+ day dropping a jig in standing timber 15-20ft of water with the fish holding at 5-10ft. Most fish were 11-13" with several 14-15"ers. Fished from 7:00 til noon.

Nice Job!! That's what I call a good crappe day.

I have been trying to catch crappie on the old cut through and the trees north of the cut and I have had very little luck. Can you recommend other places for me to try?

That's a great day. I tried for a few hours today and only caught a half dozen or so. I was doing pretty well on the 720 bridge and then the wind picked up a little and the fish started hitting the jig short. I moved to some timber and found the same thing. I tried a few things and got a few more but I missed a bunch. Then the storm blew in and I high-tailed it to the ramp.

I was hoping for a 50 fish day like you Ozarks, but it wasn't in the cards today. Maybe next time.

Where in the Ozarks are you from? I used to live in South Western MO and my folks live in Springfield now.

See you out there.
Greg

1dad, I caught fish on just about every tree I tried north and south of the 720 bridge. There were schools of 1" long shad hovering around all the trees and the crappie were under them. All you need to do is "match the hatch".
mj, I offered you a back seat on your last post who_knows my offer still stands. Shoot me an email if yer interested.
greg, I tried the 720 bridge for a short while to cool down in the shade, but only caught a few dinks. I was in a bronze over brown dual console Cajun.
I lived in KC, St Louis, and Ozark Mo for 20 years. Fished Truman, Lake of the Ozarks, Table Rock, Stockton, Pomme, and Bull Shoals. Been in Texas for 6 years. Hence, Ozarks Transplant.
