Was watching ESPN outdoors a few weeks ago on the duece, and they featured this fisherman on Lake Eufala in Oklahoma who was a really good Crappie fisherman.

He was using 2 ultra light rods, one in each hand at the same time. I could not tell what kind of setup he had, but he had 2 jigs/platics on each line that were about 1 1/2 to 2 feet apart.

Anyone have any clue what to use to rig something like this up? I want to try his style of jigging on my 2 ultra lites.

I've never done it...but if I did, I would tie a slightly heavier jig on the bottom one.

Maybe a 1/16 on the bottom and a 1/32 on the top...or a 1/8 on the bottom and a 1/16 on the top.

Having a heavier jig on the bottom would help the rig stay untangled as it is dropping.

Some people call this cannon-balling. Earnest has talked about that on here before. If you search for it...should find some old posts on it.

I read an article in Crappie World magazine on this technique and the fishing guide was from Oklahoma. He was using a 1/16oz jig tied on first with a 1/32oz jig tied about 18 inches above it. I have never tried it but will give it a shot first chance I get. I agree with Duck the heavier jig on the bottom will prevent the rig from tangling on the fall.

Correction from my last post: The guide was fishing on Toledo Bend using the two rod technique so he was probably from the Texas, Louisiana or Arkansas.

The way I was showed to rig a tandam set up is to go 18-24 up from bottom jig and tie a loop in the line leaving a 3-4 in tab, run this through the upper jig and loop the eye. I use a 7 ft rod with a swivel about 4 ft from my lower jig, I like to use a bubble belly on bottom and a puddle jumper on top, works real good when casting out from a brush pile and let it settle back toward the pile. Whenever I use two jigs I tie them somewhere in the neighborhood of 12- 24 inches. I pick 2 guides on the rod that are separated by this amount (approx 16 inches or so)and tie loop knots to secure the jigs. I do this for easy tangle-free storage after I'm through fishing. For me this works well .....except where there is a lot of structure , brush etc (you're twice as likely to get hung). BUT when you drag 2 in it is ....well you know how it is.

Just changed it up to match my new website look. I'll change it all around again in a few months
