Clad: Nothing against Mr. Patty, but, in your area I would go with Crappie1. He is at Granger Lake and is on of the VERY BEST!
http://www.ogo.com/tidwell/ is where he can be found.

I don't really know anyone who fishes that lake for crappie. Bastrop is known for it's bass fishing which is what most of the people I know fish for.

Since lake Bastrop is known for its bass fishing, most of the people that I know or talk to are fishing primarily for bass and not crappie.

Sorry for the multiple posts, I didn't realize that these replies went into multiple pages. I was wondering why I didn't see one of my replies on the first page.

Since you said the water is pretty clear and you are fishing in 20 feet of water, maybe you are spooking the crappie.

To catch crappie in clear water, you need to fish a little deeper area. You can find them on your recorder, park over them, drop a line or two in, and they will have already spooked from your boat and left the area.

You may be making too much noise too, like banging something against the boat. It doesn't take much.

Good luck.
