Well I headed to Academy to pick up some tungten weights because I have never used them and I hear its the way to go with C-rigging and T-rigging.
I was going to get some 1/4 for texas and 3/4 for carolina.
The only 3/4 tungten weight I could find was in a package by itself and it was over $6.
Kinda caught me off guard, I knew they were more expensive, but dang.
is that about the right price? If not, where do you guys get yours at and do you get the painted ones?
also, is it like night and day difference as far as the feeling vs lead weights?
thanks

As fas as i know academy only carries 3/4 and 1oz. tungsten weights in the the tru-tungsten brand. they are good but also the most expensive. can get them much cheaper online around $2 a piece for the 3/4 or 1oz. that are still very good quality.

Been thinking I might just go with pure Gold weights rather than Tungsten just to save a few bucks. I still cringe every time I buy a pack of tungsten weights. But I do like the smaller size, not the higher price.

Remember the good old days when you could break off a t-rig and it was no big deal??? LOL These days I feel like I'm breaking off a Lucky Craft! But the feel is outstanding and worth the price to me.

Buying tungsten is like trading in precious metals on the stock exchange. Getting close to gold, silver, and platinum prices!

I saw them at an Academy store yesterday. They also had them in 5/16.

Academy sells lake fork tackle tungsten too, they are a little cheaper than tru tungsten and that's what I've been using. I picked up a few packs of (3 in a pack) 5/8 tru tungsten at gander mountain for 3 bucks, bought all they had! Felt like I got the deal of the year... LOL! I've been wanting to order from bulktungsten for a while but haven't done it yet...
