Ahoy friend, I guess it never is too late for restarts. I remember fishing for most bream types in a canal behind my grandfathers house in Sarasota, Florida back in the 50-60's and taking my 3 sons to camp in Ringgold,Louisiana fishing for bluegill and redears in the 70-80's.
Now it's time to set back my saltwater,and help my 5 & 7 yr old grandsons enjoy the sport.
I do need some help in where to do some bank fishing in the Kingwood and/or Houston area (Conroe,Lake Houston ?) or nearby.
I have tried a little park on the San Jacinto River in River Grove Park but mostly just turtles.
I would sure appreciate any sharing of the wealth of knowledge here on TFF. I do enjoy reading the post and am thankful for the web-site.

Any of the oxbows off of the San Jac should have their share of BG and other sunnies. Also, I've caught sunnies and bass out of Spring Creek in Jesse H. Jones Park (north of 1960). I would guess you could catch in Deussen Park, but I've never tried (it gets pretty busy in the summertime).

I catch lots from area creeks (my area; near Katy) so I would bet if you could find some pools in any of the creeks around Kingwood you would have a similar experience.

Are there any community lakes nearby? They always have a population of sunnies as well as catfish. Some are even stocked in winter time with rainbow trout.
