Not to be mean, but dude that's just plain strange. Selling crappie? (or any other fresh lake fish outside of catfish). Never heard of it and don't understand it.

I would either throw em' back or eat em'. I just don't understand why you wanna make a profit from it? Maybe i'm just tired...

You can't sell any fish taken from public water unless you have appropriate commercial fishing license and then usually it is only catfish from specific lakes that allow commercial fishing. Your sportfishing license won't do the trick. You could sell farm raised crappie, again another typr of license, but I have been told that crappie don't do so well in a farm setting. If you were to farm fish and sell them they must be fed a special type of food so if tested, the lab could tell wild fish from the farm raised fish by testing for some type of protien. I am sure if you are serious about selling crappie you could find out everything at the TPWD website or find a Game Warden in your county to give you the low down on the topic.
