Fished Sunday with Paul O'Bier...and it was a hot mutha for sure....despite post frontal conditions we managed 24 keepers and probably another 15-20 throwbacks jiggin' deep timber. Paul's a helluva nice guy who I will certainly spend some more time with this year learning to troll. My reasoning for fishing with him Sunday was to get a better feel on what to look for when picking specific trees while fishing standing timber. I had my own thoughts I gathered last year, but it certainly helps to get an expert's opinion....anything to better my arsenal. I left with just that and hopefully I can put it to good use this summer. And for the record, all that have fished with Paul in the past, he changed his favorite jig color today, he saw what the pink and white could do. RIP chartreuse and white... :p wink

.....j/k...my favorite took a beating today for awhile...

Enjoyed it Paul. thumb

We stumbled into Fly at the boat ramp today....good to meet a fellow TFFer...I just wish he'd have had that sweet new Lund for me to look at....

Just go east to Sache and Joe Hamm can show you a bunch of Lund. I'd show you mine, but I'm over 2 1/2 hours away. I sure like it.
What lake were you fishing?

I was RayBob Sunday morning, Jason. Think we might of saw y'all with Paul in a white boat with like a tannish or gold stripe on it back in the trees at Buck Creek, or a cove or so east of Jordan boat ramp. This was around 11 am.

The guy I though might've been Paul looked like he was wearing a Grey shirt and had that salt n pepper goatee or beard. There was also someone wearing like a bright yellow or orange shirt. Was that you?

There were 3 folks total on the boat that I thought was Paul O'Bier's (seen his picture from the LL Tourney) fishing some standing timber. I even told my buddies that I think that's a renowned guide on the lake.

We were in a center console boat (3 of us on it). I was wearing a black A&M cap with a white shirt. We did "ok", but boy it sure got hot. We bailed off the lake by 1 pm. We should've brought our swim trunks.

Yeah that was us....but I was the big guy in a gray shirt also. The guy in the yellow shirt is a great buddy of mine who does a lot of work on my boat and vehicles. Needless to say he was a little slow on the draw all day.... wink But he has such a good time he gott a ProAngler rod after we left... laugh

You guys must have been the boat with a guy riding on the front deck seat through the trees of Ray Bob with the big motor... eek

Jason:

You might have seen us as well as I think we saw you guys sitting on that cedar tree at the mouth of isle dubois? I think Paul waved to me as we came through in my Lund Pro V 1900 late morning? So why was Paul fishing out of his old boat and not his Lund? We had the same kind of luck on Sunday....about 25 keepers and maybe 60 in total. I do believe the front that came through the night before had a big impact.

Dave

Jason,

Yep, figured that was y'all. Yeah, that might've been us. We were riding through the trees and we had a big fellar in the boat with us (Willie) who was wearing full-brimmed hat drinkin' a beer.

Heath was driving and tooks us the wrong way through the trees. We kept seeing submerged trees just under the boat and barking to hime (left! no...now right!). It was pretty funny.

Well, with most folks I know, it's always REDNECK. There ain't too much grey poupon amongst my buds. It's what makes America great!
