Any one now where the hydrilla is growing back in good shape? That lake went to trash after they killed it all.

There is still some grass but it's very sparse & you have to look hard for it. I disagree about the lake going to trash after they killed the grass. The lake fishes totally different w/o the grass but the fish are still there. It's a structure fishing lake again.

How can you say this lake went to trash? hmmm I never got to fish it when it had grass, but it fishes great now. The fish didnt disappear just because the grass did. You have to adapt and fish the moment not the past.

I wouldn't say the lake is trashed, but it is definitely not the AMAZING lake that it was when it had grass in it. You can still catch em very well out there now, but back when there was grass, the lake was phenomenal. In my experience, it seemed that all parts of the lake (even those that were always void of grass) were just far more productive than they are in the now "grass-less Joe Pool".

Many-a-time sitting in one spot for as long as 4 hours and completely wearing them out, even in areas without grass. But that was back when the grass was in it.

It just seemed like the grass improved the lake as a whole.

I found some grass last weekend, and it was bright green and relatively new. It's in a little deeper water, but didn't catch any fish in it. Yet. laugh

It's still a great fishery, just have to know where they moved to. Humps, points, creek channels... that said, it was downright phenomenal when the grass was matted and thick. I could catch fish all day on a buzzbait.

I hope that rumor turns out to be false...

The reason i say the lake went to trash is because we could go out and catch 5,6,7 pounders all day now its one every two trips, but you still catch a lot of numbers

What general areas do you guys catch them on Joe Pool? I am thinking of trying it for the first time soon. Do you fish closer to the dam or up in the creek arms?

Main lake points right now, but the shad (and the bass) will be moving into the creeks shortly.

Back when JP was matted with grass, The state stocked it with 350,000 Flordia Strain, just because of the grass. Chance of living longer and growing up much better in Good Ole grass. I hope they didnt spray again. You know whos doing it.
