That was a fun tournament! Thanks Brent and to all others involved. I was a bit apprehensive seeing as how I'm quite the newbie but I learned a lot from myself, as well as watching and listening to others.

Missed way more than I caught. I'd say that unless you get a "whamo" fish on you have about 2 to 3 seconds to set the hook.

Learned the hard way to use the landing net in a tournament. Watched a very very nice big crappie swim away as I tried to bring him in the boat.

Although I did not brutalize my partner too badly in the boat with excessive wave jumping this time, I did feed accidently feed him a couple of nice swallows of minnow water.

You're a great team mate Matthew! And a savior for us as well in the tourney. At least I started off the day with the plug in.

Nice chatting with you again Ratmo as well as meeting Brian and Weston. Weston, dropped off my boat for a final trolling motor tuning so I won't be out on the vine tomorrow. Brian and Weston hope to see some pics of your infamous catch! wink

Did not feel like a too badly clubbed baby seal fishing against the likes of Jerry and Paul. flehan

I never have met such a group of fun and friendly folk since making the aquintances of you people from the TFF crappie forum.

Thanks to you Turkey Hunter, for a great day fishing, and the minnow drink.... This is what happens ya'll when you hit a wave with the minnows up front, just open mouth and swallow....
Thanks also Brent and all involved, looking forward to another team tourney, I think this is the way to go....

This lady won the big fish contest.

You all probably recognize Jerry, Paul, and Mr catfish himself "Tex" Elliot in the red ball cap. (what is he doing fishing for crappie?)

Looking over Jerrys left shoulder is Don (anyfishwilldo), Tex's tournament partner.

Behind Jerrys right shoulder is Jim Hensen. Leadhead00's dad.

Then behind Jim you can see Mathew Carol. You probably know the name from reading this crappie section. He's the guy that makes Jiggum Jigs.

Then you can see Duck Jerky and Wes talking to Mathew.

And the dude in the red shirt, that's brent. The guy who put the tournament. Great job man.

2nd Place John Marco and Wayne. This was Waynes very first tournament. He told me he had such a great time that he is going to start fishing more area tournaments.

3rd Place Jerry Hancock Sr. and Craig. I forget Craig's last name. Him and Jerry won that Crappie USA tournament a couple of years ago.

Mr Willis. Him and his dad do a lot of these crappie tournaments. I think they won Big Cliffs tournament this year.

Duck Jerky and buddy Wes. It was cool meeting them before the start. Wes caught a 26lb bluecat during the torunament. eek

Ed and that trademark hunters orange watchcap. I litteraly have spotted him over 200 yards away on the water. All you need is to barely be able to read Lund and see the color orange. laugh laugh
