Very discouraging article in the Austin American Statesman. Let's hear thoughts on the subject.

Aw heck I live within a couple of "looks" (for those not grown in the kunty a = look as far as you can see and walk/drive/ride to that point) of several old Uranium mines. Hell they say our water system is contaminated, can't eat certain fruits 'cause they give ya cancer, can't drink the water, DON'T eat the fish!!! Big business & Big Brother are to blame for most of the dayum pollution in our Country but yet they keep charging the citizens higher Road Taxes and Fuel Taxes for the "Clean Air Act" yeah yeah yeah..... All the big business KEEP pumping chit into the air & water and go about their business.

Take a trip to the Palacious/Port Lavaca area and start looking into what areas of water you CAN'T eat the fish from. Purdyyyyyyyy darn skeeeeery!!! Pretty soon we be eating 100% Synthetic or Lab made food. Guess that just means MORE $$$$ for the BIG Businesses. Oh not to mention catching fish that glow in the dark ROFLMFAO.

WOW

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you are a mile away, AND you have their shoes.

Wow man we all gonna get sick, and be unable to afford a Doctor
because we have no jobs. and there will be no one to pay taxes
to supply the government healthcare. Looks like we just as well
go ahead and do something drastic, but with the rising price
of ammo I can't afford a bullet.

Where is all of this mercury coming from. Looks like the clean water act imposed way back in the 70's never did any good.

I found this piece of information about Lake Worth.... you know the lake everyone says is polluted, toxic fish, dont eat em and all that stuff..

http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/seafood/Survey.shtm#advisory

"The organic compounds detected in samples from Lake Worth are summarized in Table 1. The contaminants of most concern to public health are PCBs, particularly Aroclor 1254. Chlordane, p,p=-DDE, hexachlorobenzene, and chlorpyrifos also were detected; however, the average concentrations of these contaminants were at or below detection limits and would not be expected to pose a public health hazard. None of the 22 metals were found at levels that would be expected to pose a threat to public health."
