Well, I finally got a chance to test out my bass buster. My buddy and I decided we would float part of the Elm Fork between RR and Lewisville, as we have wanted to do that since we were in college. The water was much swifter than I was expecting, even had a few rapids mixed in for excitement. We managed only 3 crappie and two bass, one at nearly 5lbs though. Of course, by the time we hit the calm water with the best looking stuff, it had already gotten too dark to fish. Oh well, we will know better next time where to put in and where to fish, but we still had a blast.

casey, I also fish out of a two man boat. Did ya'll put in there off of hwy. 380? If so, which way did you go? It's 12 miles North to the Ray Roberts dam and looks like it would be fun to head up that way. I have a trolling motor and a 2.5 HP Merc. for mine. Let me know next time ya'll go and I'll join you. If its where I think, you have to have a second person to help get your boat over the concrete steps down to the water.

we put in at the dam and picked up at the 428 park. Those concrete steps were no fun to carry that boat up, especially in the dark and when they are covered in mud. We launched upstream, because I dont have a trolling motor yet so we just drifted and paddled down. I think next time I would like to go from 428 to 380, the water seemd to slow down once we got to 428.
