I saw this guy snatch up a fish in a creek. I only had my phone on me and tried to get as close as possible. He ran from me for about 5 minutes and finally spit the sun fish out and hid under a rock. The video quality is a little bit poor, sorry.

Turn the sound down or off. When I upload the video to PB, it messes up the sound pretty bad.

This fish swam away and was perfectly fine!

Ditto on the pansies part. The snake was trying to get a bite to eat. Wasn't harming nobody except that fish.

I was wondering how it would be illegal also. Can't figure that one out.

Not illegal, unless you discharge a firearm within city limits.

From the TPWD:

A landowner or landowner's agent may kill any nongame wildlife other than protected birds and threatened or endangered species at any time in any number, provided the wildlife is not used in a commercial activity.

Yeah, I'll bet he wasn't too happy with me. I was just trying to get a close shot. I wish I had a better camera with me.

Great video, Ryan.

It's always funny to witness a water snake after it has swallowed a sizeable meal. They are so bloated, it looks almost cartoonish.

Thanks for posting that. thumb
