So i went out to a local creek close to my house. I was teaching my daughter how to cast. I'm always throwing it out there for her, but i decided it was time for her to do everything on her own. Once she got the hang of it, she was pulling in the bluegill and greenies. After about 30 minutes, i suggested for her to cast a little further out. Well, maybe about 10 seconds after she threw the corn threaded hook, the line pulled hard and started pulling the line out. I rushed to her to cheer her on, but no matter how fast she reeled, the line kept getting further away, so without grabing the rod, i tightened the drag. After a what seemed to be a couple of minutes, she finally pulled in an 18" (inch) carp. Sorry, i didn't have a camera or scale on me. I know she'll be talking non-stop at school about her catch. Later on the day, she pulled a 13" carp. My best of the day was a 10" buffalo. All fishing was done on corn. From the creek i go to, my PB has been a 14" channel cat. So my daughter has the biggest catch so far from this creek.

Now that she can handle her own, I feel the need to visit Texoma again. This time, i'll have the camera ready.
