try around the boat dock in the marinas. and the tires in front of scotts landing.

Haven't had much luck lately, but the few i have caught have been in the shade around the docks and tires.

Also have not had a morning bite in a long time.

I haven't had a good morning bite their either. Mid day bite actually has gotten good lately but nothing to write home to mom about smile If the winds really kicking ( which with Gvine 5mph is kicking the way the lake is laid out ), open water points can be a pain in the behind, even with a strong trolling motor. Definitely will test the patience, but still good for a bite or two.

Like Txcat said, marinas are pretty good. My best luck has been on channels within and around the marina areas, or if you can find a good depression or hole randomly around the marinas with your sonar. I've picked up a good reaction bite occasionally by working the boat docks in the marinas.

Another thing, watch yourself out there this morning. I went out to Gvine for a few hours this evening, and it was a complete MADHOUSE! So many jetskis, skiboats, and pleasure boats on the water that it got it so churned up and rough you would have thought there were 20+ mph winds nonstop across the lake. Not to mention all of the sailboats anchored themselves up right through the main body of the lake where you will be going between them as you run the lake to where your going to fish at. And the alchohol was flowing, saw two pretty high dollar bayliner type boats almost collide in twin coves around the bar / marina, followed by 2 minutes of expletives between the drivers on proper boating. Be careful out there, definitely the last time I'll go on a weekend to Gvine until I refill my blood pressure meds!! lol

Grass beds and rocks just off-shore early near points. Plastics and spinner baits. Hopr this helps.
