Taking a buddy of mine that has never been in the surf before in the morning to go chase some trout hopefully. I primarily throw plastics, but I am wondering if the action is good enough right now or if I should take some bait for him.

Its just good insurance IMO to take some shrimp along....sometimes its not needed, but when it is, its good to have it.

Take a cast net and net you some live finger mullet. Carolina rig 'em. You won't catch near as much trash fish with mullet.

Well , looks like I'm flying solo in the morning now. At least I won't have to haul bait buckets and a cast net now. Good luck to anyone else that is gonna be out there .

hope your trip goes better than mine did. got down there, got some live shrimp, hit the beach, and 15 mins later, in comes the thunder, rain, and lightning. didnt even get to get a rod in the water. just wasted money on bait and fuel.
