When You use a loop knot for jigs, How big is the loop. I know this sounds like a simple question, but I don't want to be "That Guy." Thanks, BJG

I'm no expert but I would say a good loop knot size would be about the size of a dime.

I'd say mine are about the diameter of a pencil eraser.

I make mine about the size of a golf ball, I use 4 sometimes 6 lb line by using the bigger loop, when them big slabs inhale the jig it leaves "double line" aross their teeth. I can't count the number of times I went to lift a slab in the boat when I couldn't see the jig and as soon as I went to lift her, her mouth would shut on the line and break it. Somtimes the jig will flip around and foul but not as frustrating as loosing el biggo.

I try and make the loop about the size of a pencil eraser and not bigger than a dime.

IMO, it doesn't make any difference. When I tie my loop knots (and that's all I use), they all seem to come out a different size each time. The size of the loop doesn't dictate anything, but the fact that it's a loop, does. Either large, small or something in between, you give your jig the optimal chance of free movement, and that's what's important.

Guys: If you use two jigs in tandem. Do you'll use same size loop knot for both. FISHSIF

What type of Knot are ya'll tying? I have been using a form of a double cinch or improved cinch. Tying it twice against its self. It has worked well except when I get a Crappie on one and sand bass hits it on the way up and breaks the knot.

Exactly how do you tie your loop knots? I have been using a form of the cinch knot tying it twice and pulling it against itself. Only problem is when a crappie gets on and a sandbass takes the other jig, and breaks it at the knot. I know these are not the best knots. Suggestions?
