recently on a family fishing trip i was jig fishing while the wife and kids was using minnows. nearly out of minnows my wife picked out a black and yellow feather jig i said ok.after a few minutes she had a fish on,the fight was medium about like the pesky small catfish we had been catching.the fish was under the boat and pulled the line so as not to lose the fish and a big largemouth came about half way out of the water before the hook straightened out and he fell back in!?#!?#! i'm in the dog house for life.hard to estimate how big he was but i think both of my fist could fit in his mouth.

If both fists would go in his mouth snugly, I'd say on average, it'd be a good 5-7 lber. But that varies also.

No fish is too good for the grease.

Yep...I lost a really good crappie last year right at the boat. Ever since, the net is always within arms reach.

I hate to have a client hook up with a good fish...only to lose it at the boat. So, the net is always ready as soon as they hook-up wink

When I put the net in the boat it jinks me, just small one, take the net out that is when I NEED IT, go figure

If the LORD takes me to it, He will see me through it.

My net is never out of reach when I am fishing. There are many crappie that fall off right at the boat.
BTW Catfish hunter: Catfish is great on the grill with good seasonings.
