I use it with tungsten too. A little extra rattle doesn't seem to hurt.

I allways use a red bead.A little noise, a little color.Keeps the tungsten weights from pounding on your knot.

Use a bead most of the time. Adds noise and protects your knot.

I have never used one because of something i learned about a T rig.

If you hold the line tight in your hands, one hand holding the hook and one hand holding the line about 2-3 foot away from the hook. Now stretch it tight real quick like you just set the hook.

The natural vibration from the hook set makes the weight slide up away from the hook everytime,(actually shoots it away really quick) enableing no weight on the fish for the hook to be thrown.
I never knew this until i seen it on TV one day and i was like WHOA!
I wonder what it does with the bead there?

I always use one (a very small one) unless I'm flippin heavy cover or going super light with a finesse rig.

I always peg my t rig, so no bead.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no on the Texas Rig. I only started trying it recently and I seem to have had just as much if not better luck without the bead.

My #1 and #2 largest bass have come on Texas Rigs with NO BEAD.

I use a bead about the same size as the bottom of your worm weight. It kinda acts as a shock absorber to not only protect the knot but to keep the weight from banging on the bait and forcing it down the hook shank. Some of the cheap hobby store plastic beads have a large enough hole that they will slide over the knot and wedge there and give you good protection.

I use the same set up for my carolina rig and texas rig. I use a plastic carolina keeper between the beed and hook and move it up or down depending on what the fish want. If the water is stained or muddy I may put two beeds on. I also use tungsten weights.

Just started using two beads, always used to use no bead.

Not always, but I will put a bead on about half the time. Call it the "BBQ rig". Carolina and Texas are both known for BBQ, so the name seems to fit.
