I made cast today at Lewisville and one of those big gray birds flew by and caught my line in the air I didn't know what to do but let it free spool. It carried my bait to a tree on the bank before it it fell offf. I was freaking out wondering what I was going to do if it didn't come off. I could imagine you standing there with a look of confusion!!

I have "lassoed" a plecostomus with my line, also foul hooked one on its top fin. Hooked a comrat (water turkey) on its wing, that was a fun fight, but the hissing noise it made when I got it in was disturbing. I can't count the number of times bats have flown into my line.
As for bass, I could see a bass nibbling the bait but did not feel anything on the line.

I use G Loomis rods. I can tell the difference between small and large fish. Sandies and perch and Stripers are easy to id with a quality rod.
I can even tell when my lure goes by an old car on the bottom. Brand names too!

I cant imgaine hooking a beaver, with that tail they would be able to pull in the water likenone other haa.

If you lose a lure or get a giant bite, I am fairly certain it was a El Chubacabra.

In a one days time I caught a freshwater mussel-crappie jig, a pair of big girl drawers-crank, an unopened beer can-crappie jig and crawdad-plastic worm.

Same on the buzz bait, i was fishing a pond once at night with a black buzz bait and i had something blow up on it twice that looked like someone threw a cement brick on top of my bait. No way that was any kind of fish

Ive caught a giant crawfish, on one of those old lft crawfish, that looked exactly like crafish.
I snagged a snake on a popper on purpose, cause i was an idiot.
caught a duck, and i have caught anothe litter bird that attacked my prop bait in the water.
Thats it though..
Sadly no beavers....yet.

I've caught a few turtles in the mouth with a crankbait. ugh and a water turkey which is BY FAR the best fighting thing in a lake I gave up after almost an hour with no progress at all.

I've caught frogs on purpose (they love plastic worms drug 6" from their face). Dad has caught a fair number of snapping turtles on spinnerbaits. I had a small redeared slider chase a rebel crickhopper all over once...finally let him get it just for grins. Never have caught a snake though...don't want to either.
No fish is too good for the grease.
