I know North Padre Island is around Corpus, is that the best place to go camping for a night or two and do some fishing?

How accessible is it? I have a new GMC z71 so I can take it off road.

Any info would help, thanks!

The beach from N. Padre up to Port A is accessible and you can camp just about anywhere. Just pay attention to where the high tide has been reaching. If I had a dollar for everytime I've seen people pitch camp inside the high tide mark and then find them flooded out overnight I'd be a rich man.

I'm not sure what it cost to camp at Mustang Island State Park but I imagine it's more than the $10 a day to get in. Your best bet is to Pay the one time fee of $12 and have access to any beach from Port A to Bob Hall Pier with the exception of Mustang Island State Park.

I'd camp on the strip of beach near bob hall pier or over on mustang island over by the jetties. Stay off the high tide. . . pulled out a few people myself so far. Buy the $12 sticker at any stripes gas station on the island.

sand rigs with live shrimp have been doing good out there too by the way.

If you plan to camp in a desolate area be sure to take Mr. Colt or Mr.'s Smith & Wesson with you.
