Bought a couple Revo SX's and love them....but on of the two I bought the thumb bar feels uncomfortably hard to push and disengage the spool. The other reel is easy to push. They are the high speed version from Acadamy (the only SX's they carry). Brought it back and they exchanged without hassle but the guy behind the counter opened several boxes for me and they all felt the same. Is my one thats easy to push a freak thats different(better) then the usual Revo SX. Anyone notice this with the SX high speed? Love the reels otherwise. 361V

Had 3 SX's, a STX, and a couple S models, and none of them had thumbbars that were hard to push-excellant reels IMO.

Same here. No issues with the thumb bar. They may have a bad batch? Maybe try another Academy.

Sounds like it just needs to be greased and oiled.

I had one that for some reason has become a little harder to push and then break back over with the handle turn. I didnt notice untill my partner used it and made a comment about it then i noticed it.

I've got 6 STX's, 1 SX, & 1 Premier, and have never had a problem with any of them..... the STX's get the most use, however the SX is on my stripper rod & probably gets the most severe use of all of them. Mine are all 2007 models and I've never had a problem with any of them. Sounds like Academy has a bad batch, or they are putting previous customer returns back on the shelf to be sold.

Probably need to lube them. I spray a little KVD Line & Lure on my reels to keep them from drying out.
